headlights are westbound as you drive to 680 in concord. no delays aas of yet. here is steve. >>> thank you very much. our system is moving on shore as advertised. the rain is picking up especially towards the north bay and we have wind and rain picking up and most of the heavy rain is still on and off shore right now. things are picking up in the north bay and it looks like it is about over for them and it is beginning to really start to intensify and our front still has a ways to go but it is a fast moving system which is not going to stall out. up towards clover dale and lake county, things are beginning to light up and rushing river, not too bad. nothing too heavy, and in marin county, it is starting to move on shore so there is a little bit of an enhancement so out to the east bay this has been light. reports of rain are starting in capitoa but it is later than sooner when they will get the bulk of this but everybody is in on this. rain is picking up at half-moon bay airport and by 11:00 and noon this system is gone blasting through. by 8:00, and 9:00 it is moving out by noon. that

the bay this afternoon. steve paulson is warning the rain could cause flooding of rivers and creaks. they all have their workers and heavy machinery out stationed at napa creek. >> we will have staff stationed here to make sure any tee prix is cleared and water will continue to flow into the culvert. >> that culvert is part of the project and the flooding stage is 9 feet. >>> rain and strong winds caused a big tree to topple down on to some power lines. >> it was a flash boom when the power went out. >> that was the scene yesterday morning. look at that, traffic was blocked for hours. it took them four hours to fit there so that the tree could be removed. and the next round of heavy rain will hit us and we will have more information on your mobile devices as well. >>> we have a big-rig blocking a surface street in woodside and this is kings mountain road and crews have called in a tow truck and they have been trying to get this out for the past half hour, i just wanted you to be aware of it. towards southbound towards san francisco are the headlights you see and there are no delays.

clark. let's check weather and traffic. let's go to steve. we had the rain but you are also talking about fog. >> that will be tonight and tomorrow. that is not coast fog. that will be the inland fog. we do have rain going through right now. it looks like it's ending parts of the peninsula and northbound. really mild system. temperatures are in the 50s but you can see there is a line. it looks like a lot of that will be ending. we'll talk more about this in five minutes. >>> on the sunol grade southbound 680 very slow because of a crash northbound 680 at washington the crash is on the other side of the road. but people are really taking a look at it you can see how slow it is there on 680 southbound. not good driving. usually it's light here at this time. if you drive this right now, you will see a lot of slow traffic. you need to leave the house earlier. also the morning commute on the east shore freeway westbound is getting busier driving toward the mccarthur maze. let's go back to the desk. >>> and we have developing news for you out of san francisco. right now crew roberts scene

. finally a look at 280 in san jose, traffic is looking good in both directions, here is steve. >>> well, we have a little bit of a lull before the system comes in and if you leave now you might beat the bulk of it. everything is offshore poised to move in and today it is widespread, it will rain all the way from ukiah and santa cruz and it looks like a fast mover. we will focus our attention on the north bay and again the santa cruz mountains, saturday it takes more aim at that. it is possible we could see 10 to 8 more inches. cape mendocino north, there will still be a lot of systems and now it is becoming one and it will move on shore and as long as it keeps marching, it will take aim at the marin coast. also the rushing river area, things are beginning to start nothing too heavy but it will pick up around 7:00, 8:00 or 9:00. also in mendocino, and lake county and down to santa cruz and monterey it will be a rainy morning. it is not too heavy yet but it is on its way. when you see darker green rain begins to pick up and that will not come in for another couple of hours but i

broad brushing this if you break through that fog, low- to-mid 60s. here is tara. >>> all right, steve this is a look at 680 and you can see traffic is moving along fairly at this hour and up next we have a heavy fog advisory for the bay bridge and you can see folks headed into the city and definitely give yourself some extra time. lorraine blanco is out there. how are people looking are they taking it slowly? >> yes, they are not taking it that slowly and the fog has not let up since we have been out here. just behind me is the toll plaza and you can't see it at all. now traffic is moving, moving rather slowly here and visibility is very low. here is a look at some iphone video as we head down in el cerrito tow. even -- el cerrito. in oakland you could not read the signs and driving around the east bay is a challenge this morning. we also shot video near berkeley and that could be tricky and today drivers are breaking more in heavy fog. advisories to tell you about, there is an advisory on the bay bridge as well as the san mateo and the venetia bridge and you will want to give yoursel

. and 280 in san jose t- traffic is looking great in both directions >> thank you, steve. we have a different pattern and it is not as thick as it was. a lot of higher clouds in advance so areas of fog not as wide spread and the winds will begin to be a wet pattern especially for the curse pattern and i think it will be a pretty fast move and it looks like the next time get ready for some rain, it is on its way and the winds will turn southerly fitting rid of that fog and we have a lot of cloud cover. it will be cloudy and chilly and here comes that rain. it boots scoots out of here fast and on wednesday me might get a little of a brag but we will start to move in towards the north bay thursday night into the weekend. it is a little cooler 50s and 60s and with your weekend always in view, probably the heaviest rain increasing by saturday. >>> and an aggressive form of breast cancer, why it is found right here in the bay area even more than the rest of the state. >>> hundreds of people are worried for their safety. , more and traffic coming up.
